The "authoritative opinion" you seek has already been given in the previous posts if you care to re read them. I will add though that the clearly hollow hinge bracket is bogus and the lack of visible shear marks and burr on the edge of both the clasp AND pin show that this in it's entirety is a cast piece and not pressed out. You can reliably take that to the bank as your feedback that is so important to your good self.
