Any thoughts?
Hi Simon I do not have a good feeling about it, the finish looks bad and detail not so good but I have been wrong before.

Hi Simon
I agree with Eric. The gold finish looks also not good for me.Be careful with the gold grade cccs.It is a very rare clasp and the chance to buy a bad one is very high!

So is this a complete fake or is it an original that's been painted?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Personally, I think it's a Possible original who has been "upgraded" by an enterprising faker by applying a layer of gold paint to it. The bare spots on the reverse, in particular, look more like flaking and peeling of Paint rather than honest wear to actual gilded finish. The thick paint tends to obscure the detailing, so it's difficult to tell.

I feel it could be a complete fake. It has def been painted gold more recently. I do not like the detail in the FFL maker mark. Letters look poorly formed.

Fake for me too. Makers mark is a giveaway. Stewy
I agree, looks like peeling paint to me also.
Here are 2 more gold for sale, neither particularly impresses me but I thought I would show them for comparison.
