It's a genuine type 1.1.2 in bronze.

Looks like what is left of it is genuine...

A pity that it's been butchered!...
My heart is bleeding, when people denazify old relics. Just for selling them in Germany or on Ebay...
It is what it is, and was just as likely done by the awardee so that he could still wear it publicly on post war occasions perhaps such as funerals, reunions and old comrades association meetings. This is not uncommon and was dictated by law after images of the swastika were banned in Germany. This clasp may have been denazified in the time between the end of the war and the introduction of the reissue of awards without the swastika by government consent in 1957 or even after then.

Remember that the "people" could well have been the original owner surviving the war and wishing to wear his award in the BW era. After all, that is what the 1957 reissues were for. If so then the removal of the swastika is part of its life story. I have seen awards dug up that have been denazified. ... it happened at the time also for many reasons.
