After having studied the stippling on both mine and the fake it appears that they are both exactly the same, same number and same position. Also the reverse just didn't seem right from the first time I saw it. Looks like I owe you all a beer! The dealer has already guaranteed me full refund so all good.

I didn't think to count the stippling but interesting that it matches. The maker is obviously trying to change the appearance to sell his good to unsuspecting buyers. Any you were thinking correctly about the reverse being off! I'm glad you're getting a refund, I'm sure it was fairly costly, as these badges carry a substantial cost. I wish you luck in your hunt on the next one!
