The pin plate is original to the badge IMO. A very nice badge in good condition.

Again, real and a steal at 900.00!
The thread or link that Ade mentioned should tell you enough to convince you one way or the other. It certainly helped me with my pair a year or so ago. Look for the tapered "I" and you're on to a winner. But be assured of one thing. There are a lot of fakes out there. I know form experience, i did get caught, but luckily i got my money back.
Good luck.
i would pass on this one,,price too good to be true and for the other reasons stated above,,,
To each his own, but I have studied and owned these badges for years and this one is a 100% original roto engraved GPB. Enough said by me on the subject. Best, Erich
Thanks guys, and especially Erich, for your input. I have been through our fakes forum but there are no examples of roto engraved ones. I followed Ade's advice and have signed up to World War Militaria's site to see if they have more pics. It is a lot of money to lose on a private sale if bad, but is a smoking deal if good.
The seller has done his homework, and had a ton of paper to confirm original recipient who was in the S.A prior to call up - I just want to see some pics of roto engraved numbers to see if the 1 & 5 look good.
