Late War ID?

Article about: I have seen a couple of 30 mm.Gold Party Badges with the stud backing. The concept with a pocket mount was to allow the badge to lay flat against the pocket fabric. The pin mount could be a

    What exactly were these ones called with the clip and not pin? Thanks for looking

    Mike I have never seen that style before how are thoes applied to a tunic or a jacket are they ment to be pushed threw a button hole or are they to be crimped on.

    Mark it looks like you just clip it onto the tie or collar, not to common, with me anyway, most ones I have seen you pin them on, although I know this is late war cause of the paint, and no enamel.

    First one I have ever seen like that Mike all the ones I have seen are pin backs as well.

    Yea Mark me to, I think I have seen the ones with the button pin with clip? Maybe? But thats why I wanted to post it for some ideas

    Mike-
    This appears to be a stud back for wear in the buttonhole of civilian clothing. I have never seen this attachment on one of these late war party pins.

    Nor I Bob, was wondering if this was unique, I have had this awhile, now posting the detail, it came with the Vet lot, well you know the rest of the story.

    Nope-these are fine. It's just odd, as was said, to see a painted badge with a buttonhole back. One wonders why they would even bother, when a simple pin must have been easier and cheaper to make. William
