Yeh the one I have looks like that one you just posted on the inside, apart from the sewing a to join the armband, I agree that my sewing looks very neat, but I am leaning to the fact it is an original that was sen up post war. going for the inside and the prinitng, lettering style, and weave pattern, because if i was to unpick the hemming on mine then it would be a straight weave

Yeh well apart from the new looking stitching, mine looks very much like the one you jus posted Pammy. Feeling more confident about it now having seen the ones posted here, and there are definitely variations in them. Like you said Pammy, these were made at a time of great crisi in Germany and issued en masse

look at pic #4 of the armband,,,it has a diagonal weave to it,,,i have never run across this style of weave on ANY armband,,,the armband just does not conform to any known norms of armband construction,,,i still am of the opinion that it is a reproduction

Militarymania just pointed out what I was about to say. The close up photo of the outside shows a diagonal weave in the original post. I have never seen one to have the diagonal to it. Further proved, the photo pammy posted of the outside of an original did not have the diagonal weave.

Thats why I love this forum, informed and intelligent debate!!!

I mean I like the armband, and I have taken all your comments on board and appreciate them all. Blacklight test tommorow. However in my opinion I dont think I would have enough hard evidence to turn around and say to the dealer you sold me a fake, I will cop it on the chin and hang on to it!!
