Never seen one like this Steve wonder what the center right said? looks period made though. ERIC
looks strange
Hi Steve, the gold leaders strip has most certainly been added at some unknow time since it's over the stamp. I agree with Eric that it appears to be made of period material, but boy it sure seems to be shabbily constructed. I've seen one other similar armband with the red, white, and black. It was from a pre-1940 forced work camp. I'm not sure about this one. Interested in more comments. An armband reference book would come in handy right about now. You wouldn't know about strange looking dates Steve, they have nothing but beauty queens down there in Oklahoma.

Never seen anything like it before.
Just wondering if it was another small political party which later merged with the Nazi's in the early days and was updated with the swastika?? Black/white/red being the Imperial national colours.
Cheers,Ade.
For me, the construction is crude. My thoughts are that this is a fantasy piece.

I think its very nice.! The corect stitching is there.
Possibly a period homemade childs armband (for fancy dress) given the crude construction and small size. The Germans were very keen on imparting National Socialism and the military way to their children! I have seen period commercially made childrens German helmets, pith helmets and toy rifles as well as home made children uniforms made from various bits of uniform (hopefully there is a link below for a childs uniform made from a Zeltbahn)
