Could you tell me how to identify fake armbands and genuine ones please? I haven't bought any yet because I don't know how to differentiate between the two. Any methods/tells would be greatly appreciated!

The advice offered by Ade above is the best way for you to determine originality. Study the original examples on display here - there are many variants, this will help you greatly. Well done on waiting before making any purchases - much money and stress can be saved this way.

There is no substitute for in hand examination. Study the ones here and then see if there are local dealers who you can ask to see their armbands. Formulate your own opinion and then post pictures here for discussion.
