That's a lovely thing Leon. How far up the ladder is this rank exactly? I am not too familiar with the political system. These armbands really epitomize the period, they are such a strong 'trademark', if you like, as much as the shape of the stahlhelm or a stick grenade etc. I have a single SS example but I could happily have a box frame full of these, congrats

Hi Krad , from what Andreas informs me this one could cover two or three "ranks" at the local level(ie town/ city).That said it is at the "top end" of city officials if not the very top chap in that area! Leon.

Depending on where the Ortsgruppenleiter lived, he would be the political leader of a small town or possibly only a block or two in a large city. With the 1939 pattern uniform, the armband denoted the wearer's position and the collar tab his paygrade.
