    Blue Piping represents Ortsgruppe Level (town municipal)...

    As Glenn stated a Ortsgruppe armband , so not SA but NSDAP Political Leader Armband for the lowest level.

    Also worth noting is that this is not for the SA, as suggested by the OP, but rather the NSDAP --- more specifically this one seems to be for an Politisches Leiter Anwärter within the Ortsgruppe. Although it's "low level" it looks like a nice one!

    Always a nice find, especially the tagged ones (IMO). I just got a NSDAP armband from an auction that still has the tag.
    I'll post some better pics once I receive it in the mail.

    edit: see now that there's no mention of wool, never mind -- either way: cotton
