Default WW2 German armband real or fake?

Hi. I'm a new collector of WW2 items & I saw a german armband for sale but I'm not sure if it is real or fake. The seller said that is was his grandfathers cousin who fought in operation torch in North Africa & that's where he acquired the armband.I would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me if the armband is real & what signs to look for in determining a real or fake german armband. What does the letters mean in the tag, etc.? I would really appreciate if someone could help me out since I'm new to the hobby. Thank you for your time.

    Welcome to the forum!

    Original.

I have moved your thread to the correct sub forum for you.

Search "RZM tag" or "RZM Label": lots of info an RZM tags on the forum.

    Cheers, Ade.

Thank you very much with the great insight & quick responses. On the tag, what does the D & F mean? What does the numbers 849 & 146322 represent?

D is the tax code for wool item, 849 is the manufacturer number and 146322 is the individual item production number. All this is information is available as Ade suggests by doing a search on RZM tags.
