Aluminum Luftwaffe 2nd pattern cap eagle

Hi guys,

I am not so experienced with these aluminum cap insignias, but I believe myself that this is a good original eagle with fairly good detail, but I'm never sure with things that are new to me. The eagle has clear shear marks on all its edges and is marked "FLL". I have tilted it carefully a bit upwards to have a look and it has brass-colored prongs attached to the reverse just like I've seen on original FLLs.

This seems to be a later eagle IMO, because the leg of the eagle holding the swastika has been reinforced to avoid bending. This reinforcement is not present at the earlier FLLs marked "37", "37" meaning the year of the making of the die as I understand it.

All input on this eagle is much appreciated! Thanks in advance guys.

Any members out there with some (or much) experience with these aluminum Luftwaffe eagles who could help me out with this particular cap eagle's authenticity? I just don't have any experience with them whatsoever

I really need some help on this one guys.

Hi Kenneth, always tricky when not seeing the back of an item, as that oftens tells the full story.

Do not take it off though!

But so far, so good. Nothing obvious jumps out as looking bad.

I have taken two closeup photos of the edge and reverse of the eagle. These are the only photos I can get of the reverse without forcing the eagle or removing it.

The shear marks are consistent throughout but are most evident in the swastika-area on these photos due to the flash "whiting out" such fine details many places. IMO this is definitely not a cast piece, the consistent fine shear marks proves this.
