    Steve,
I actually had that thread book marked (amongst many others) as it was a good reference.

    Pammy,
It should measure about 4" from tip to tip. I'm fairly certain this is a breast eagle, though. And no problem at all!

Hi Pammy, the thread starter is a well known fake, with the flaw in the left wing, the wrong number of inner wing feathers and the incorrect weave on the reverse.

Jerry is correct, a well known fake. Just commit the weave pattern to memory. The back is totally worng.

    Here is an ORIGINAL.

    Cheers, Ade.

PS: I see Jerry has been busy while I was posting Nice one.

Is my comment about the horizontal lines that can be seen when held up to the light something that can be a good indicator as well?

Another feature to look for on originals, is that the woven thread is twisted, whilst on fakes it is usually straight.

Hi Jeff, re your comment on the lines: something that I would not bother doing as more obvious factors come into play.

    Cheers, Ade.
