Hello,
I have an aluminum plate with a painted badge of Lufwaffe but I can't identify it.
I think the letters GL (g letter is reversed) are for "General Luftzeugmeister" (General Inspection for Aircrafts, a civilian corps) and the letters Lw.B are for "Lufwaffen-Beute". I found that the Luftwaffe set up in the spring of 1940 a central authority (Luftwaffenbeute - LwB, which was formed on 24 April 1940) under the Generalluftzeugmeister/Air Ministry in Berlin to supervise and control the recovery and exploitation of captured aircraft and equipment.
Could someone tell me if I'm right or wrong with this identifcation ?
I don't have any informations about this aluminium plate (where does it come from ? ...).
Thank you for your help,
Jordan
