Cloth eagle - real or fake?

Article about: Hi Grateful for your opinion on this eagle. It came with a batch of stuff that I bought and was not the reason I bought the group so won't be overly concerned if it's a Turkey Opinions grate

    Thanks all - it's what I thought. Lucky it was a "bonus" item then !

    Now, where did I put the cranberry sauce?

    I believe these were made by an American Company called "Patch King". They made insignia for collectors in the 1940's until the 60's: US WW1 & WW2 patches plus Nazi stuff. The gauze backing to the embroidery is one of their manufacturing traits.

    Some people do collect these in their own right.

    As Ade posted a "patch king" patch, which are collected by some people, though why is not something I understand, but each to their own. A period item and maybe it reminds some of their youth.
