Cuff title mystery!
I am considering an infantry tunic that has an original attached krim shield on the sleeve. The description also states that this used to have a cufftitle but it has been removed. So do you guys have any idea what that cuff title could have been? Now keep in mind he was an infantry soldier, it does not say he was a panzer grenadier. He was not SS, I tried to research all the divisions who fought in the Crimea but none of the infantry divisions listed had cuff titles. Any ideas????

Re: Cuff title mystery!
Bear in mind men transfered from one unit to another.
What sleeve had the title upon it?
Cheers, Ade.

It appears to be the right. Here is the link to collectors guild, since you can't save their pictures because of copyrights.

Re: Cuff title mystery!
These are the cuff titles worn on the right cuff:
1936 Spanien 1939 (Not likely as this was only worn by certain units)
Afrikakorps (Totally non regulation on the continental woolen uniform)
Grossdeutschland
Propagandakompanie (Grey waffenfarbe piping to the litzen and shoulder straps)
Heersmusikschule (Worn at the school)
Unteroffiziervorschule (Worn at the school)
Infantrie-Regiment List (Never issued as far as I know?)
Cheers, Ade.

I thought Grossdeutschland fought in the Crimea

Re: Cuff title mystery!
If i come across a grossdeutschland cufftitle at the right price I made nonpermanently add it to the tunic, but i will concentrate on getting the tunic first.

Re: Cuff title mystery!
From what Ade has said GD would be a good candidate

Re: Cuff title mystery!
I agree, the others seem unlikely....but interesting, I did not know that certain CT's were worn on different sleeves.

Glad to have helped.
Campaign award cuff titles, such as Afrika, Kreta, Kurland, Metz1944 were all worn on the left sleeve.
Cheers, Ade.
