    The brown were recon units (used until 1941), and the dark orange ordinance units.

    Yeh, I know, but the question you asked is what colour is it.

    Thanks for the pics Jerry (and nice collection). I picked one of these up a few months back and had a similar question. The color is more of a rust/brown color, not the red as shown in the pictures.

    Michael, yours looks more like the copper brown for motorcycle recon troops.

    A colour chart I did years back when I still needed to find more for my collection.

    Orangey brown for construction, which is why with some of these I do not offer opinions on what colour they are, the colours are so hard to be certain over, the oranges, the greens. The red ones I have always come out pink in photos and the pinks just look wrong, the scanning works better. I have seen mauvey purple examples, but not sure if they exist or are just odd in photos red or pink examples.
