    No clue, but looks interesting.
    Ive always liked the Edelweiss insignia. A refreshing departure from the norm.
    Also interesting reading about Dietl et al.
    When I first started reading about him, I had no idea, that he really was a huge rising TR persona in (very) good standing with AH and destined for an even greater position, had he not been killed.

    New to me and I used to collect Edelweiss stuff. Maybe its a unit of the SA Hochland who wore Edelweiss cap badges

    Thanks guys, has me stumped too. Have tried different searches for almost every German era to no avail.
    It's up on a local auction and I was just wondering what it could be.....

    The eidelweiss was also popular with moutaineers and the like and tourist badges are often seen, though the #2 makes it unlikely and maybe it is a mountain rescue unit or something of that ilk, though this is only speculation and I have never seen one like this before.
