I had been looking for this for some time, wondering if it were in someone's private collection or in a museum. Being a 4th cousin to the Field Marshall I have often tried to ferret out information about him and his time in Spandau and his service. I am glad to see that people actually value historical items of this sort, wish I had the kind of coin required to obtain the Baton. It is indeed a beautiful piece of history. Happy to be a member of this site. I may not be able to afford such artwork but at least now I know what it looks like.

    • Robert Ritter von Greim
    • Albery Kesselring
    • Erhard Milch
    • Wolfram Freiherr von Richthofen
    • Hugo Sperrle

Yes that's right. In order of their promotion dates:

    • Hermann Göring - 4 February 1938
    • Albert Kesselring - 19 July 1940
    • Erhard Milch - 19 July 1940
    • Hugo Sperrle - 19 July 1940
    • Wolfram Freiherr von Richthofen - 16 February 1943
    • Robert Ritter von Greim - 25 April 1945

However, the late-comer von Greim didn't get a Marshal's Baton when he was promoted. (Of course, he was dead a month later anyway.)

A little white flag on a stick would have been more useful than a baton in any case by 25 April 1945.

These are amazing "0ne off" items for sure and so unique theyt should all be in museums for all to see. In any case they are surely beyond the reach of the "ordinary" collector.

I recall that sometime around 1994 I went to a Waffenborse in Germany where a collection of around 20 of these from all arms was on display (definately not for sale!) and it still gives me nightmares!!!

Nice thinghy but I'd have bought a few Ferraris and many choice WSS combat uniforms with that cash!Congratulations to the new owner but I'd be green with envy had him rather found a cache of complete combat uniforms!

He or her would already have all those things if your laying down 700 000$ for a baton !
Now that would be something to find in an attic !
    Cheers
