    Default Gebirgsjäger Ring

    Hello Gentlemen,
What do members think about this Gebirgsjäger Ring. The story behind it is - they were issued along with a Urkunde for a act of single bravery or exceptional job efficiency, valued above KVK on the same level of a EK2, different from Africa Korp rings which soldiers could buy as personal jewelery without needing any paper work.
A tall story? can't say - I've ever seen one of these Urkunde, on the other hand, certain Gebirgsjäger units did have unofficial metal tabs for their different units. The ring is stamped 800. Do members perhaps Gebirgsjäger collectors have any information about these rings.
    Regards
    Alec

Sounds like a doubtful 'tall story' regarding these being 'awarded',
but it does look like an interesting ring - possibly TR period.

IMO, most military themed rings seen today are bogus.
    Regards,

    Steve.

This pattern was awarded with an nice paper award. And military themed rings are not bogus. You just have to make your homework and know your rings....

Actually yesterday, i found a nice image of this awardpaper in the WAF. A guy wanted to sell his GJ ring and also showed the paper. I tried to find it an hour ago, it has gone. Maybe the ring is sold and the thread deleted.
