    Hello,

This is considered an original WWII edelweiss. It has been trimmed and is not in its original configuration. This style of edelweiss was issued very late in the war and are seldome seen on tunics.

    Hello,
I would add that in theory the embroidered Edelweiss had to be worn on privately purchased tunics only.
    Thanks

JPhilip would you mind explaining the reasoning behind why this embroidered style of Edelweiss could only be worn on private purchase tunics please.

    Hello again,
Mark : sorry i dont remember the references of the official text, but it is said that only BeVo Edelweiss or Oakleaves could be worn on regulation Feldblusen, embroidered ones had to be kept for privately purchased tunics. So to answer your question, the reasoning behind what i wrote is an official text.
    Thanks

Thanks very much JPhilip as I was curious if it was part of an official memorandum.
