Surely the eagle would have been replaced...
The tunic would have been produced with a standard, woven eagle. This would have to be removed when the Oberleutnant had it replaced with the present silver-wire version...
I have absolutely no problems with it at all.
    Flippin’ lovely.

    I like it.

Added: Is this part of earlier attachment thread? Maybe it had a woven bird at some point.

    Hi Trondk,
As I tried (rather badly) to point out in my previous post, there should indeed be traces of a previous eagle having been removed. This is merely a record of its history, rather than any sign of fakery.
As a standard issue garment, the tunic would have left the factory with a woven eagle fitted.
When acquired by the Oberleutnant, either purchased new from stores or ‘inherited’ in the field, he will have had it replaced with the wire version we now see.

    Best regards,
    Bob
