Are there any authenticity concerns about these two items? I'm not finding any patches on the forum with the same yellow cluster configuration as on this one, but they appear to vary quite a bit anyway. I think they're rather common, so perhaps the fakers don't bother with these?

Also, are the holes in the metal insignia for sewing it to the hat?

    Thanks everyone!

    Hello,
In theory, this type of embroidered Edelweiss was to be worn on privately purchased tunics only.
    Thanks

JPhilip, I didn't know that. Interesting. The seller also had one on a more gray background with a more simple design. What's the difference between them? Is one more collectible than the other? Here's a photo of the gray background version:

    Hello,
Both Edelweisses are good. The one on dark green backing is early, the one on Feldgrau backing is a wartime production.
    Thanks

Made a deal with the seller for both Edelweisse patches and the hat insignia for $70. Judging by dealer prices, I think I did pretty good on these. In any case, will post photos when they arrive. Thanks for the help gentlemen! Much appreciated.
