Ok guys thanks again i think i will go for it!
I see now Jerry what you mean with the weave and better pictures.
If I get them i hope you don,t mind me posting them again for evaluation.
I suppose at the end of the day they aren’t going to break the bank .
Thanks
Rod
Always happy to offer an opinion if I think I know enough to make it worthwhile to give it. As others have said, the Heer trop tunic eagle looks to be almost certainly a good original and is worth on it's own way more than £40 and the same for the luft, though hard to say much from the pic. If both are right, you are "quids in" and the tropenhelm shield is an added bonus. I would risk £40 on the strength of these pics

Jerry

Re: Heer & Luftwaffe tropical eagles & Tropenhelm shield: Real?
The two Heer eagles, cloth and metal are both original, the luftwaffe is also probably good and it's ragged appearance might be from it having been laundered. Machine embroidered luftwaffe eagles came from a multitude of makers and the variations this creates is nearly endless.

Re: Heer & Luftwaffe tropical eagles & Tropenhelm shield: Real?
Thanks guys
This might seem like a daft question but would this white eagle fail a black light test, like fake ribbons?
Its just that I tried it, and it was ok but I wasn’t sure if it works or not.

Rod

Real cloth examples might also fail a black light test, but mostly, fakes fail and originals pass.
