Fred, What Panzer patch are you referring to? NH
Hallo Neil,
My bad, I was referring to the nachrichtenmechaniker patch. I don't know why I put panzer in front of it.!
Fred
Ha! You must like Panzers Fred! The Signals Mechanic (Nachrichtenmechaniker) patch I posted is probably post 1940 as you pointed out. An earlier version would have had a dark blue/green backing. The Nach.Mech patch was produced with the generic yellow/gold thread. Only the signal "Blitz" patches were made with unit colors as far as I know and indeed Panzer would be pink. NH
hello Neil,
There shouldn't be an earlier version of the nachrichtenmechaniker patch because it came out in May of 1944. There could possibly be a private purchase patch made on dark green but I doubt if there ever was an issue patch made.
Actually I love Color, not just pink, in Heer insignia!! I have collected heer insignia for a few years now. Jerry B directed me here and said that this was a good forum. Signal Blitzes are a weakness of mine!!
Fred
Fred, I have a bunch of Signal patches and continue to collect them. I think it would be great if those of us on the forum who collect these patches could make up a definitive list. The info in books and on web sites is spotty. I have a loose leaf book with acid free plastic sheets with pockets for organizing my specialty patches. In each pocket I have made a card with the name of the patch on it. My hope is to complete the collection and then share it with the group. NH
Neil,
I just came back from the SOS and have been picking up signal blitzes this last year. Here is a picture of what I have at the moment. The very last one is an orange blitz on dark green!!
Fred
Hey Fred, have you still got the white on tunic fabric tropical blitz you showed the other week?
Regards,
Jerry
Whatever its just an opinion.
