No problem! The place is about 25mins away from me, but luckily my sister goes to college in the same town!

Some believe the flag to be a mine flag. Flags meant for minefields were white and larger. The yellow ones were supposed to be used for creating safe corridors in gas infected areas, allowing the troops to move more safely, someone correct me if I am wrong but I always see them sold as mine flags?
    Good stuff Joe.

Gas safety lane/zone flags, often sold as minefield flags.

Gas marker flag is correct! 20 flags and poles in a canvas or leather pouch made for marking a safe corridor through gas infected areas.
BUT, as gas wasn't used in WW2 what would they have been used for????? - if not minefields then NOTHING!
Maybe that's why so many turn up? ....... still a nice item.

    Thanks for the responses, everyone!

I know the gas tends to be more dense and collects in low spots of the terrain... Correct me if I'm wrong... but wouldn't these gas marker flags be useless if the wind blew?
