Another recent addition - a very well worn and matching set of boards and tabs for a Hauptingenieur:

Hi everyone – have picked up a few more bits and pieces of late:

First up an eagle and a fliegerhauptingenieur der reserve board. I picked the board up on ebay for 30 euros. I guess no one knew what it was:

Next up, a set of fliegeringenieur auf kriegsdauer tabs, and a board (regrettably only a single) with the pink underlay:

Some T boards for the summer tunic for a fliegeroberingenieur and fligerhauptingenieur:

Two sets of boards for a fliegerhauptingenieur, both in unworn condition with the smaller pips:

A very salty and well worn set of boards for a fliegeroberstingeniuer. These ones look to be cottage made but I have no doubts that they are the real thing:

Boards for a fliegeroberstabsingenieur, and for a fliegeroberstingeniur:

I now finally have the complete set for the regular officer ingenieurkorps ranks up to the general ranks.

I still will be on the hunt for boards and tabs of better quality and condition, as well as for a tunic (one day…!). I intend ultimately on setting up a display board with all of the tabs and boards, once I have them. I still need to get hold of the generalingenieur boards and tabs, plus some more of the a.K boards and tabs. I think it may take me a while to get the last few…!

    Cheers,

Great material shown in this thread.
Can't contribute much here, but I can show a nice photograph
of Görings pilot, used in one of my books!

It seems he is wearing a rosette?? instead of a pip (star)
or is this a distorted view:

This looks to me like a retouched photograph with the rank pip painted in; a common practice to reflect recent promotions if a current photograph was unavailable.

Surely, the photo was taken when he was still a Flieger-Stabsingenieur, with the shoulder boards updated to Flieger-Oberstanbsingenieur.

Also note that the collar patches with the two-bladed propeller are for the lower rank; a Flieger-Oberstabsingenieur should have a three-bladed propeller. Either the person who did the retouching didn't feel he could do the collar patches convincingly or was simply unaware that they, too, reflected the exact rank.

    You will be correct HPL2008.

I may have made a mistake in those days when making the caption
in about 1990. I mixed up the ranking insignia with the one worn
up to 39 year's old. At the moment of the photo Hucke must have
been older and must have been Flieger-Stabsingenieur and the
device upon the shoulder-board was adapted to a higher rank.
Hucke was promoted to the rank Flieger-Stabsingenieur on August
1, 1936 and at that moment assigned to the RLM. October 1, 1937
    he was promoted as Flieger-Oberstabsingenieur.

I took over what was written by the Lufthansa photo-archives and
did not check better! Enclosed the photo from the "DLH-Bildstelle".

Hi all - some recent purchases.

    Firstly, a couple of tunics:

A side cap named to a G Kirsch, who was a fliegerhauptingenieur (I wonder why he wrote his name in pink...?)

    And some more tabs:

    Hi all,

Just acquired this one – a tunic for a Flieger-Stabsingenieur. The tunic unfortunately is not named. It is in good condition – a few moth nips but the insignia still looks very sharp. The pink and blue really do look good together...!

    And another acquisition - a tunic for a flieger-hauptingenieur. *

Slowly working my way towards a tunic of each of the standard ranks - it's a lofty ambition, but technically I am half way...!

    Cheers,

    Brad C
