I see Berlin and a few other words and numbers which are barely visible so cant make them out for sure but there is a 40.
I have a similar problem with a British pat 37 I see quite a few numbers and letters but are barely visible they could be anything.
Edit: try looking up the names.

I am not implying it is post war, just that for an unusual item like this that further research is needed. As I posted earlier, a cool item whatever date it is, just even cooler if proved to be WWII.

No I am just saying what I see to me it doesn't matter if its post war in
the not to distant future things that are not valuable or noncollectable will soon go up in price and collector value.
