    Thank you Bob, I was also curious about the thinness of the leg holding the swaz. Could this just be the design of this manufacturer?

    Hi, I have seen many of these broken off at that spot. I must agree, looks very nice. Be careful though, the pins, and as I said, swastika, seem to be subject to damage. For some reason the luftwaffe eagles are just more "delicate" Nice bird!!

    A good way to display is in a box with the very soft foam insert. You don't have to bend the pins. They make them deep enough to accommodate an insignia like the LW Adler. I used a box display for a Krim shield and other awards. The Krim shield pins are straight out - not bent. I can take it out and examine the backing and obverse. It is easy to put the pins in the foam insert without bending or breaking. Photo shows the grouping. NH
