Luftwaffe Visor Insignia

I've seen quite a few of these luftwaffe visor insignias at various flea markets and antique shops, but I've usually stayed away from them as they are typically priced higher than the standard visor insignia of the army. However, this one is only priced at $50 so I figured it may be worth purchasing. I'm far from being an expert in these, but it appears that it could be original to me. Any second opinions though would be much appreciated as always!

the maker G.H.O is Osang in Dresden, although I've never seen a luftwaffe cap badge with brass prongs or this brown 'stain' all on the backside? Almost as if it was copper with a layer of paint over it.
