    Great Mantel. The hooks at the skirt are there to "blouse" the coat. You could pull the skirt section back on the left and right, connect them both at the back and walk or march a little easier. The photos shows how a WWI French overcoat was "bloused" as mentioned. Could not find a German example. Photo credit goes to Top Pots. NH
