    Question

I've Never read or heard of the Gebirgstruppen being called "mountain rifles"!
There were the Gebirgstruppen and then there was their rifle the Gebirgs Gewehr or Carbiner.
The first was somewhere between 5'4" u. 6', the later was about 40" and called the G33/40.
