Some of Dad's photo's
Sorry for the quality
I'll try and get some better photo's, Dad at some stage was posted to Hungary,Romania. Mum has two albums (Hungary, Flak, street-fighting) so bear with me ( Mum gets upset if I ask for these things as she feels Dad shouldn't be remembered just for this)
It's very hard in reflection or hindsight , Dad told me he could never live with or forgive himself for being ordered to put individuals out of their misery following the Hamburg Firestorm.
Thank you very much for sharing this rich history with us all. These pictures are great. All controversy aside, your father did his duty and you should be proud of him for who he was, war and all.

Super uniform and photographs, thank you very much for sharing them with us. Your dad was fighting for his country, just like soldiers from every other country in that horrible war. I'm certainly no apologist but I hope you are proud of your father's service, I know I would be. It pains me to hear about soldiers ashamed of their service because of politically "in"correct opinions from the uninformed. Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now. Again, wonderful treasures from your father.
