Mystery Officer or NCO
This is my "mystery" German - officer? NCO? It looks to me like he's wearing Oberfeldwebel Shulterstucken, but also officer's collartabs. And his uniform and boots certainly don't seem "regulation" either! This photo was included as a "freebie" along with another eBay purchase, so I have NO ideas at all as to where it was taken or when or who the subject may be; any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Mystery Officer or NCO
M36 tunic with officers litzen and shulterklappen and jackboots, all looks correct to me. Hard to see the shoulder boards clearly so you might be right about them being NCO, but he does look to be in his Sunday best and pre or early war collar tabs could be worn on backing patches.

Jerry
Whatever
its just an opinion.

Re: Mystery Officer or NCO
The johdpurs and riding boots along with the cut and style of the tunic, suggest to me that he is an early/pre- war NCO in a CAVALRY unit. (Dont forget that a very large proportion of the German Armed forces was horse mounted right up to the end of hostilities)
Just my 2pennorth and suggestion guys
Regards etc
