Need help Identifying Shoulder board

Hi guys, I saw these shoulder boards in a small militaria shop, the owner says its probably german but does not know what its for. Any ideas what these are for?

The photos are a bit bad

, I will try to get some better ones. It has a type of dark red base underneath the silver part.

Not really my thing. I expect the value would be fairly low? Only buy them if they interest you is my advice.

Do you know where I can search after ww2 german shoulder boards and their meaning? Also, I need to find out my grandfathers rank, but all I have is a black and white photo... I know he was a "Stabsveterinär" in Russia and probably at some time in Poland.
