I see your DDR boots have one piece plastic/rubber soles and heels, the ones i had had leather soles and heels with plastic/composite attached to the leather. There was also a metal cleat on the toe which extended up over the front part of the leather sole. The interior was also leather your DDR boot seems to be lined with a fabric of some discription. The pull on straps were also attached all the way round to give a rectangle shape not just sewn at the top. Did the Bunds have jackboots issued or were they restricted to ankle boots.

Hi, have a look at Hot Boots!!! A community of men into BOOTS !, the ones i had were bundeswehr. Your boots with the composite soles appear to be navy, better grip on wet decks?

I have a pair of WWII Cavalry NCO full length boot's. They have the full stiched in pull on loop's in a blue and white pin striped HBT fabric. The heel leather is square cut like your's but sole's are too worn to compare.
Mine are marked and dated 43 on the leather near top on the inside and were made by Dihl Mann of Tutlingen.
    Hope this help's a little

Here are some pictures of my only pair of WWII German boots. At least they are supposed to be WWII German boots...
By the cut of them, I would say they are officer's field boots.

    Best Regards,
    Mike
