Re: Original general uniform ???
to be honest the tunic looks like it was given as a gift to a moth family i can't see why if the insignia had to be removed why they didn't also remove the red ribbon (as this is the main indication its a high ranking tunic)
imho i think the red ribbon has been put there so that they can say its an original high ranking officer

Re: Original general uniform ???
I was watching this one as well. It's very tatty but original.
It is in fact a reichswehr tunic post 1927 that has been used during the TR.
They have eight buttons (as opposed to the field tunic which had six after 1928)and were used for dress (parade) and walking out......the tri-cot material is correct and they were usually private purchase. The red cotton on the tabs may well mean it's previous owner was an artillery man rather than general but we'll never know now !
Here's an example (not so tatty) of a pioneer officers....
cheers

Re: Original general uniform ???
Wow, look nice, so the new owner of the one, sold in ebay, got it really cheap.
Such a shame to remove all of the insignia just to sell it.
I'm not a nazi, but every time hurts me when i see destroyed piece of history, devastated to meet some stupid requirements of some site, just to be sold...
