Hi everyone, just got this nice M43 Panzer Grenadier tunic for Division 'Brandenburg'. I have added the awards to existing loops and replaced the missing EK2 ribbon. Any comments welcome.

very nice tunic.
Hello Douglas,
that's a nice late war Feldbluse...congrats for your purchase...one thing hovewer, the Jäger arm patch is embroidered which means that it was meant for privately purchased garments only. This Feldbluse is an issue garment so it should bear a BeVo type Jäger arm patch...
Is the EKII ribbon original ?
the red color looks a bit weird
Thanks

Yes strange red....why Brandenburg?

Thanks for the comments. The ribbon is an original ribbon, its very faded. I was under the impression that the arm badge denoted the Brandenburg division, clearly this is not the case.
No, this is not the case...
The foot Regiments of the Division Brandenburg wore this arm patch, just because they were Jäger, not because they were the Division Brandenburg. The other Jäger troops of the Heer also wore it...
Thanks

Thanks very much for the information.
Hi Douglas, it looks like a nice original M43 feldbluse - a tunic type I like a lot, and nice examples like yours don't grow on trees!
Just one thing, I think it might be the case that you have the light-green ("grass-green") shoulder boards for Panzer-Grenadiers, but I think the Jager troops used a darker green Waffenfarbe? Others with greater knowledge than me might want to chime in on that. Either way, it's not a big problem, boards are an easy swap. If it's the case and you wanted to change them, I would recommend Mario Hiscoll's militaria site for German shoulder straps.
Also, is it possible to show the stamps (sizes, Depot info etc)? I'd always be interested to see them.
It looks like the eagle might be hand-applied. It's my understanding that some manufacturers did hand apply eagles on M43 tunics, but I don't have enough specialist knowledge to add much to that. Overall it looks like an attractive tunic you have there!
Best regards, Paul
