Questions & Opinions about this Heer Infantry Tunic & Breeches...

Hi all,

I picked up this nice Infantry Officer's Tunic and Breeches set a couple of days ago from the daughter of a vet and wanted to post it for opinions. I've never seen one of these with a pink liner, but I believe the officers could have these custom made, correct? It almost looks like he had the trim of his breeches made to match the liner color as well. Is there anything about this set that raises any red flags?

I'd also like to know what you guys think I should replace the missing shoulder board devices with. You can see they've been removed if you look at the close shot of the board below.

Also, there are about four of the painted buttons missing from the tunic (two along the button line, and both lower pocket flaps). Does anyone know where I can get good originals to replace these? I think I can pull enough of the thread remaining in the original button holes to sew them back on, just need the buttons.

It looks like it probably just had a number for the regiment it was from, as it's looks too high up on the board so unlikely to be a pip, but maybe it has left enough of an impression for you to see what it was?

Hi

I had one tunic with such pink liner.
Its OK.
Now I have found one in black.
When private purchased tunic - the liner might be as you want it to be
