What should I look for to see wether a Heer or Luftwaffe sports vest eagle patch is good?

Hi Tony, I cannot give you any easy answer of what exactly to look for. Best way is to look at the repros which are sold and such and compare to the real ones shown on the forum. There are slight differences to the basic design. I am pretty sure the modern fakes will glow and be made of man made fibres.

I put the thread up and then saw the search function and was able to determine the two that I am looking to buy are the real deal. I found plenty of info and nice pics. You may want to remove this thread due to the amount of info alreay on here.....next time I will open my eyes and use the search first!

Hi Tony, no worries!

I am good thanks! About to have a very busy day working on my family tree: scanning all the family photo albums.

These eagles are still around in quantity as they made a nice souvenir. Most seem to be in unissued condition. Finding an actual sports shirt removed one is much harder.
