I like the nice iron heels, but as for the boots's age? I would guess, by the nice glossy appearance and condition, that these are East German.

Right. But early NVA right? The soles look way different than your average rubber soles? I got them for a steal anyway, less than a price of 'Repro' M43 cap.by Wagriff
So I'm using these for my WSS reenacting uniform, and I checked inside the boot and there are East German markings inside. However the iron heel, the stitching on it, the fact that he soles aren't East German and the fact that they resemble WW2 German jackboots more has struck me. My friend told me that they are original WW2 German jackboots that have been re-issued and re-soles post-war. Here are my own pics:

So are these really East German or are they indeed original, or perhaps custom made jackboots?
Unusual soles...they show little wear particularly in the non-iron protected ball of the foot, but the iron heel plates look heavily worn. Perhaps someone before you converted a pair of East German's into wartime styling for the same purpose you are using them for?

They are indeed NVA issue Leather Jack Boots (with heelplate) - Epic Militaria sorry i couldn't copy the photos!..
They are actually BW Wachbataillon boots, not NVA.
Hmm they are being sold as both East and West German, after looking at the size code in the boot i think they are likely to be Bundeswehr, next to the foot length/size 275 there is a marking of 110 which is the foot width, i'm almost sure the NVA didn't offer different widths!...
As somebody who owns several pairs of East German NVA boots, I can tell you with 100% certainty that these are West German Wachbattalion boots - postwar.
