From the collar tabs, what branch of the Army would this tunic belong to?
Also, what would be the proper and appropriate shoulder boards that would belong on this tunic?
Tropical collar tabs were universal. What distinguishes branch of service are the boards. Original EM tropical boards can run you $800 for good ones, if you can find them.
Thanks for the clarification!
Hello,
David is right, tropical shoulderstraps for the tropical Feldbluse are not cheap, but if the ones for the tropical greatcoat visible on this Feldbluse are original, then you don't need the first ones....as the second ones will do the job perfectly.
Thanks

Thanks Dave and JPhilip
I finally got this tunic in hand and would like to show a few close ups of the Breast Eagle, shoulder board and the collar tabs (as requested). Also, as stated, the sizing/date stamp was worn/washed out.
As far as the size and date stamp, I did seem to locate the faded stamp. To the left of the size, it seems to be a faint "42" next to a possible "City letter in the fold. Below the sizing, is a faint letter or number.
Any thoughts, would be greatly appreciated.
Hello,
The tunic itself is alright, tropical Litzen are also ok and IMO factory applied
The Hoheitsabzeichen is a reproduction. Good photos is the key.
Concerning the shoulderstraps, i do not like the buttonholes. This said, they're well made. As some tropical pieces of uniform were manufactured in France, they must have some slight differences with their counterpart made in Germany. Maybe Mark can give his opinion of DAK specialist...
Thanks

Dont forget to check in daylight for shadow or stiching after a sleeveshield/ patch. Some of the very exotic units used these tropical jackets, like the arabs, Indien, and others in sonderverband 287/288
Thanks for the observation.
As far as the Hoheitszeichen being a reproduction, in your opinion, would it be a good suggestion to properly restore the tunic with a proper, original breast eagle?
Or just leave it as is? Any suggestions?
