This is a good armband, IMO......... !
Regards,
Steve.
The thick weave cotton looks correct to me for this being a period peice.
I have two eith similar stamps....I have been told they were stamped during the early TR period, before all areas had the new stamps....so I have been informed!
Thanks for the info guys, i was hoping it was real, i just love it, i was lucky to find it on a local auction site, its hard to get good WW2 German stuff off it, they are very anti Nazi and pull a lot of the auctions, you have to be quick when Nazi stuff comes up and have to try to contact the seller before it is pulled.
That makes sense AMTG, looks like an early imperial eagle.
I saw a couple of these 2 weeks ago at a show. No stamps
on them, but they were selling for $75.........
Regards,
Steve.
Looks like my $60 was a not too bad price then, was worried i might have paid too much.
I think it's more of a Weimar period stamp
Nice original armband.
Tony is correct on the stamp and it is of the design used by the Reichswehr. Witzenhausen is a small town in the Werra-Meißner-Kreis in northeastern Hesse, Germany.
Cheers, Ade.
