So... We have established that they are gebirgstruppe.... But I would really like to know what kind... I am suspecting some kind of transporting unit because I am only on photo 30 of 150 and they have already been to 5 countries and there is a lot of vehicles in the photos. Here I have a picture that shows the patch on the left arm better, can anyone see what it is? I REALLY NEED TO GET A SCANNER! I took the photo trough my loupe

The qualification badge for trained signals personnel [Abzeichen für Nachrichtenpersonal] with a lightning bolt [Blitz] symbol embroidered in branch color on an oval badge cloth patch.

They are wet and windswept military men.

But seriously: Sorry, the photo is too blurred to make out any details. All I can tell is that they are enlisted ranks, either (most likely) soldiers of the Army [Heer] or possibly land-based personnel of the Navy [Kriegsmarine] in field grey uniforms.

Definitely not Waffen-SS or Luftwaffe.
