What's this on the Soldier's Uniform?

Part of a lot of paper items I am looking at there is this photo. I was looking at it and I'm scratching my head trying to think what exactly is above the far left soldier's breastpocket.

I thought it was a flashlight, but I am not so sure. Any idea gents?

It is indeed a battery powered torch.

A good old Pertrix lamp. Or a Diamon, but looking at the picture better is even looks like the much rarer Enwell lamp with double leather straps.

I remember the house of my father had flaslights like this is in the basement, but i didnt know what they were back then. Everything was more then likely thrown to the garbage dump.
