This Windjacke is marked Kleiderfabrik Markt Schwaben. We spend a lot of time dissecting camo smocks and jackets. I thought it might be nice to consider the Windjacke - an unpopular and short lived garment. NH

Kradman - the buttons on the jacket are the peculiar blue/green horn buttons also seen on some Luftwaffe items. They are either made of some kind of early plastic or horn as suggested by some. I am not really sure. Papa Kiser should chime in on the composition. I suspect these buttons were in use on civilian garments as well. They are not familiar to us as military grade buttons. The smaller type actually look like shirt buttons. The larger buttons get very brittle over time and must be treated with care. NH
