Jerry (and anyone else for that matter)... What do you think about colt45's comment regarding how high the eagle is positioned relative to the pocket, and what are your thoughts as to the reason the board do not have the typical embroidered anchor in gold? Are the blank boards simply an indication that this set was never issued?

Colt45, after I read your comment regarding the breast eagle, I did a little research and found a fantastic site with a TON of KA troop photos. It seems the location of the eagle above the pocket was not as well enforced as other branches. Some photos show the lower part of the circle touching the top ridge of the pocket seam, others show the eagle as high as mine. Here are snippets of a few photos...
