    A nice and early 1936 RAD - Franke & Co before the name change. I'd say he got better at buckle Mfg after he became Dr. Franke , based on the weak maker mark stamping and an otherwise rough reverse side. Very nice leather tab

    I like the buckle and thanks for the link. The date on the tab may date my pebbled DAF buckle with the same mark.

    Here are both 1936 early Franke & Co buckles together. The maker stamp on buckle on the right in 1st pic is slightly larger and improved

    Markus has a 1937 example on the 'makers' thread. Franke marking looks like one of the two 1936 buckles shown here. So, I would say my newest example is an earlier buckle
