This buckle is what is commonly recognized as a un- marked Dransfeld & Co., Menden / W.
So that being said this tabbed example could provide a clue to the makers habits.
Lets' turn the clock back from 1939 to 1936 and see what transpires..
The early Dransfeld seems to have a maker mark D & C with a 36 year, so is there any explanation why this was done in the early stages or perhaps a subbed out contract after 1936 or later / and the MM was phased out ? The prongs are similar but to be certain do any members have a idea why ? The shortness of the tab is consistent imo.. Any replies are welcome
